Instructions
- HEATING TIPS: Always start cooking with low flame and gradually increase the flame to medium. Do not overheat to avoid cracks.
- ALWAYS AVOID: When the vessel is hot do not pour cold water, let the vessel temperature come to normal then wash.
- WASHING TIPS: Always avoid Metallic scrubber rather use Soft sponge.
- STORAGE: Allow the vessel to dry completely before storage.
Usage and Care
-Before first use, start with the seasoning method, immerse the Handi with water over a day then dry it well and clean with a dry cloth.
-This gives the product better strength & robustness which will help in preventing cracks.
-In the beginning, starts cooking with low flame only and then gradually increase the flame to medium after few minutes. Sudden rise or fall of the temperature may lead to its cracking.
-Never heat the empty pot and avoid adding cold water to the pot that is already heated.
Cleaning The Clay Pot
Since clay is porous, you cannot clean it using soap or normal dishwashing detergent. The soap will soak into the clay and end up leaching into the next meal you cook in the pot. This might absorb the chemicals that will be hazardous to health. Instead, you need to clean a clay pot using hot water and a stiff brush. Baking soda can be used to remove the odours especially if you have cooked with onion and garlic. For stubborn stains, take rock salt in a scrub pad and scrub it nicely. Fill the pot with hot water and wait for half hour. Discard the water and wash it again.
